Harriet Tubman being on the $20 will not have any effect on my life, but she is a worthy choice. All historical and political figures have debatable
angles in their myths. Whether or not there are white men who achieved more than she did is precisely the point. Especially during her lifetime, this country was designed to keep people who weren't white men from aspiring to and achieving any sort of greatness.

My autocorrect keeps spelling her name with a "y". Harriet is well known, and yes far more well known than Phillis. Her poetry helped paved the way for many black female poets. Had she been put on the 20, chances are more women would seek to know more about her life, the life style of the time, and her poetry and the literary work of women and women of color of that era. Harriet on the other hand, I believe represents the notion of a "strong black woman" that black women like to tout, and feminist want to exploit. Because what she did was brave, involving physical hardship, encouragement of some through the use of a gun. She is presented in today's world as a legendary female badass. Which fits into the storyline that they craft for women today---just look at movie roles.
