I've had these for years, cost about $6, fit great, sound as good as some $50 headphones and they even survived the washing machine a few times.

The best right there. So bulky though can't wear them doing cardio and I work out with an intense pace. Therefore ear buds. Those head phones are bar none some of the best put there.

Some kind of Sony sumthin' or other at the gym.

Why the hell would anyone want to wear headphones at HOME though?  Fuckin' dumb.

Ear buds for me. Studio sized headphones at the gym are super gay.

Best are Sony MDR7506 . they have been used in studios for years and years because they sound great.

I'm not into ear goggles because of their size.  I used Marshall Minors until the phone controls failed, but they had great sound until then.  I picked up Bose Soundsport about a year ago, and they're better than Powerbeats (a son had the Beats for comparison).  The Bose aren't wireless, though.

Just thinking about buying, maybe more for bike rides/traveling, not for gym. I like lot's of bass so I'd buy beats, but these are overpriced due to being trendy (but looks good still), pretty good sound, tho' there are better sounding hp for a lower price (not so good looking usualy).

Nothing in the gym.

audio technica ad900 at work (open)
audio technica a900x if I need something that doesn't bleed if I'm on a mic (closed)
sennheiser hd800 if I'm making or mixing music or listening to it
audio technica ad900x at home (open) if I can't be bothered turning on the headphone amp on for hd800

Which sounds excessive but I'm quite involved in audio creation / consumption.  I would only mix on the hd800 and they are most comfortable of the bunch, though all my open headphones are quite comfortable.

No plans to expand this.  I swear.

Best are sennheiser Orpheus, but cost 50 grand and need their own amp, after that the highest stax model whose name escapes me

Clearly the getbigger's choice. Stax are also looking mightily fine. AKG once had a contender for THE high end ear warmers... though I totally lost sight on what's the current benchmark.
