How do yo stop a Pitbull from attacking ?

Better yet, what would you do ?

People doing everything humanly possible trying to break/separate/stop  a pitbull from killing another dog....nothing seems to work

(This is why I think Pitbulls have no business in public places)

I love pit bulls had them all my life growing up never had any issue. If I got attacked I would try to scoop it up and slam it on its head Or smash something over its head or kick it hard as fuck In the balls.

To scoop it up you would have to put your face and neck in close proximity to its mouth. It wouldn't end well

To smash something over it's head is a solid plan if you happen to have something in your hand to smash over it's head at the moment of attack

Kicking it is not a bad plan if you could luckily land a solid blow but most people who haven't been attacked or witnessed one up close don't realize the quickness and fierceness of an attack. They aren't always in the same spot as your foot by the time it gets there.

Doing something is better than nothing but what we imagine we'll do and what we do when 235 psi of bite force is tearing your flesh is another story. Most of us will usually scream and try and pull away

Thank god that other dog lived.  At least he was at the end. 

WTF is wrong with those people?  If that had been my dog that was attacked I would have tackled that pit and rained punches nonstop on it stomach.  It would have let go or coughed up it's intestines.  That one dude looked like he was trying to taser it's balls?

All of this is true. 

But as long as the pit has it's attention on it's victim (provided it's victim isn't you), you can still get in and do enough damage to make it rethink it's action or retreat.  Car key through the eye ball.  Football punt to the ribs or throat.

I don't know... I just know if that had my dog under attack, I would have done 10x more damage to that pit than that entire crowd combined.

ive heard your supposed to grab the attacking dogs hind legs and pull hard as fuck, as their instinct is to look back and let go. apparently they train this to special forces military. grab bag legs and swing the fucker as hard as possible. dog fights are messy as fuck, ive had to break one up before, and im still mentally scared from it.

all that kicking and mace and shit just made it fight harder on the dog. in its mind, those pains are coming from the dog its attacking so its just making it 10 times worse

I have trained canines for over 20 years. Typically the best way to stop a dog fight is to grab the aggressive dogs hind legs and start swinging them in a circular motion. It usually stops them.

A better title to this thread is: Why Have Pit Bulls Become So Dangerous?

1. Illegals, African Americans & White Trash are predominately to blame for this.

2. These people have used this breed as a "status symbol."

3. Overbreeding and breeding these dogs with their family members.

4. Improper training and mistreatment of the animal.

Remember, back in the 1960's German Sheppard's were to be feared. 1970's, the Doberman, 1980's the Rottweiler, and now its the Pit Bull...we all know why too.

I had a pit bull that actually very friendly. But once when introducing a new girlfriend he grabbed a hold of her shoelaces and would not let go. What worked was well I grabbed his nuts and squeezed (no homo). He let go very quickly.

Uh, No...there was a vid from Balt where a guy did this where two pits were attacking his pit. All it did was make the wound worse.

Agreed my parents always had them my dad is somewhat of a dog expert he has stacks of book's about different breeds. Eventually he ended up with pits because they are so well rounded. If you get a good one they are the ultimate family dog and companion. Extremely athletic my dad runs them 5-10 miles a day takes them for bike rides. They are extremely determined to impress please their owners. They loved my mother followed he around and looked after her. They helped raise me and my sister. If I was getting out of hand one of them would put me in "time out" lol. They would chase me until I ran up on the couch and they would keep me there for five minutes. Truly amazing. They were nicknamed the nanny dogs in the days. Boxers are excellent too if you can get a throw back. I like most bully breeds working class dogs.

Right. I've seen a couple nasty dog fights. The neighbors dog got in our yard a few times. My dad always kept one around.

Few months ago my dad's American bulldog killed one of those giant gooses that hangs out at parks. My dad was running him and he noticed an elderly couple was scared to walk down this trail because all the geese were hanging out. They become extremely aggressive. My dad volunteered to clear a path by running through there with his dog. Well one of them attacked them and the dog grabbed a hold of its neck and it was over. My dad was horrified and never went back. Some guy came over screaming how illegal it was lol. The dog was protecting himself those things will put some dogs eye out. It was an ugly situation.

Amazing that the other dog held on and survived (and actually fought back the moment they briefly broke up). Dont think the pit was fullgrown.

Yeah, I don't get it. What if that dog had turned on one of the people that was trying to free the other dog? Would have been best and easiest solution.

I know a girl that her tup cup dog was attack by a pitbull, the owner of the pit grabbed the dogs balls and squeeze like a mofo. The dog wouldn't stop.
