First of all I take anything the mainstream and alternative media say with a grain of salt and that the truth, if there is any, lies somewhere in the middle.

I fundamentally disagree with your assessment on superiority and feel the media and politicians encourage a victim mentality to advance their respective agendas.

Very few people are actually superior, if we're going to be honest. Plenty of people are born with environmental or social advantages/disadvantages but that's not the same as being intrinsically superior or inferior. Someone without shoes (for example) can't pull themselves up by the bootstraps.

Perhaps I was not clear enough but in this instance "superior" means "having more", i.e., more money, more fame, more stuff.  Many people want more but don't want to work for it.  No one desires to have equality with the poor.
