Every rich person I've known seems fake, depressed, and living a false lifestyle that they only continue because they grow accustomed to it and don't know anything else. I used to date an extremely rich girl and her whole family was the biggest group of kunts in existence, they never had any fun, had no friends, they always worked or stressed about stupid shit and were overly ambitious for no reason. In their free time they ran side businesses on their computer and never went outside. The most fun I ever saw them have together was watching a comedy show on tv. They literally did nothing adventurous.. Always lecturing their kids about getting into good colleges, studying, getting a good job, etc. They had everything anyone could ever want, but they still wanted more. They never actually had conversations with each other, it was always lecturing about how to make more money or be smarter, or more successful and the kids just agreeing with the parents because they were overly controlling. Contrast that to a few lower class women I've dated, their families were always having loads of fun. Going to visit neighbors for family dinners, going out fishing, hunting, dirt biking, making campfires at night and roasting marshmallows and grilling out, going swimming in the lake, etc. It's like rich people forget how to have fun in their pursuit of more success.

The best analogy I can think of is rich people live like a domesticated dog or an animal in a zoo

Not even.

Happiness has nothing to do with money.

Trust me on this.

Good luck in NYC or LA

I have a friend who makes about 75-80K a year and he is doing totally fine living in NYC. Is he driving a Ferrari, is he taking 8 cruises a year, does he live in a 4.5 million dollar home, like all getbiggers? No. But he has no problems paying the bills and he does NOT live paycheck-to-pacycheck. I may also add that he is not married and has no kids. I know single people who make less than that and make it in NYC.

People have this weird notion that if youre not making 150K in NYC youre homeless.  ??? ??? ??? ??? Ive lived in NYC my whole life, and I have seen people live here in all different types of circumstances.

Now, if youre making 75-80K with a wife and 2 kids, yeah, that is super tough.

sounds like my wifes parents. they dont have side businesses, just uber petty, fake, gossiping windbags with nothing nice to say ever( and when they do, its fake as shit). they are more concerned with what their neighbors think of them, or what doctor they are friends with, than what their daughter is up to. they have almost no friends, so i feel bad for my parents as they are basically forced to hang with them. they have zero in common. my folks are down to earth, fun, have hobbies, nice people. its like two different worlds colliding

Please refer to my classification scheme regarding the way getbiggers classify income.

SF1900's classification scheme to describe socioeconomic status based on income per year. Data was collected from Getbig.com

Source:

1900, SF (2015). An alternative classification scheme to describe socioeconomic status. Journal of Getbig.com, 14, 150-190. doi: schmoe

>$99,000 - homeless

$100,000 - $450,000 = poor

$451,000 - $750,000 = low middle class

$751,000 - $1,000,000 - middle class

$1,100,000 - $5,000,0000 = upper middle class

$5,100,000 - $50,000,000 = rich

$51,000,000+ = super wealthy

This is a good chart. It's nice to know where I fall in on the spectrum around here.

they always worked or stressed about stupid shit and were overly ambitious for no reason. In their free time they ran side businesses on their computer and never went outside.

Then they weren't rich.  The rich are relaxed.  You're poor, clearly, and you're mistaking upper-mid for rich.  There's miles more difference between the rich and that family than between that family and you.

Sorry to hear they regarded you as an unambitious yokel and an unfortunate blip in their daughter's dating career.  If you're going to be the blue collar muscle slum fuck again in the future, I suggest you put it 'round to every female in the family before finally being shown the door.  HTH.

I've done alot of research on this subject. A good book to read is called 'shiny objects'

Couples that make 60-80k are the happiest. Does earning more make you less happy? no, but it doesn't make you more happy. Having a car that breaks down every day will make you unhappy. having a reliable car will make you happy. but, research shows having an expensive car will make no difference.

What happens when your focus is on making money you get involved in an endless cycle of always wanting more. A lot of the wealthiest people have very unsatisfying lives. In fact that book will show you most people making a million+ a year are living pay check to pay check. The bible doesnt say money is the root of all evil, it says the love of money is the root of all evil. Your focus in life should not be money.

Were taught from an early age that this is what you have to do to be happy. Were taught to never be satisfied with your stuff. Always want more and more. You gotta have better stuff then your friends and neighbors. People go into crazy debt to chase this dream.

Give me a fishing pole and I'll spend a day at the lake. Won't cost me a dime, but I'll be happier then a pig in shit. Meanwhile some chump is in an office earning 7 figures and is miserable as fuck.

The 'old money' rich people I've met have been pretty happy, chilled people.

The rich people who earned their wealth that I've met have all seemed a bit stressed and didn't necessarily come across as any happier than anyone else. Funnily enough, the new money people were the arrogant ones. The inherited money people were quite normal (although one was a bit out of touch with reality and wanted to know at the time why I just didn't buy a new car if mine was giving me so much trouble).
