This whole thing is pretty much Bill Murray's fault.  There is an interesting story on how he had final say on a script and no matter what came out he always said No and didn't want a new ghostbusters movie and somehow some time lapsed where he forgot to sign something and lost the rights he had and they immediately green lit this steaming pile of shit movie.
