The 1% is the boogeyman in Socialism
« on: May 19, 2016, 03:31:40 PM »
I can't believe people actually fall for this.

The 1%, a.k.a. the rich, is the boogeyman in Socialism.

Socialists blame the rich for everything! This is nothing new. It has happened in south-america during the last 15 years and you can see the results. Venezuela, hyperinflation of 700%, people making lines for basic stuff, etc.

Even if you took away everything from the 1% (the rich) and gave it to the 99% (the non-rich), that wouldn't change anything. Why people think you can just tax the rich for everything? Pure demagogy.

What's even worse. Some people may actually know that soaking the rich won't work, but they'll still try to do it for their own benefits. Parasites.

Just like Obama, the only thing a guy like Bernie brings is a lot of divisiveness and a stagnant economy.

I'm not sure if that's the same video but there is one where Friedman breaks it down in front of a bunch of college teenage white liberals that they are the ones actually benefiting most off of the conditions of lower class minorities.

An absolute classic. I need to dig it up.

They're just the "boogeyman" unless some of those 1%ers are donating to his campaign.

It's all gibberish to get the poor to vote for them.  The same assholes barking about the 1% still line up overnight for the new iPhone release, plaid shirt or beard oil releases.

Every "political movement/ideology" has its boo-geyman.
On and off I like reading Communist inspired literature and they're often making great points BUT there's always the stab towards the ones who are better off. It's like a dog trained to attack... it just can't help going after the target that has been engrained.
The productive classes are getting slaughtered on the altar of "equality", "fairness" or whatever is the meal of the day.

Only by removing the government from the economy can you reduce the inequalities in wealth. Government creates and protects monopolies.

Lol@ "inequalities"

In most cases "inequality in wealth" = lazy society that thinks they're entitled to someone else's hard work.

When it comes to tax all should be on level playing field, workers on salaries don't have the privilege of hiding most there money and paying next to nothing...

I don't know if Bernie is a socialist.

But I can tell you from personal experience that socialism and Marxist-Leninism and the idea of a centralised state with 'cadres' 'deployed' in all sectors of society is a complete train-wreck.

Having 40% of your salary taxed is not fun, having 40% of the profit of your property sale taken from you is demotivating to buy more property, and having 40% on your investments taxed makes you move your money offshore.

And this excludes VAT, property tax, fuel tax, vehicle tax, inheritance tax, donations tax, etc.

This is a criminal system of theft.

As a result, most of my investments are offshore and in hard currency. I'm just an individual, large businesses are doing the same and even moving head-offices offshore.

You people in America still have it good.

The evidence is blatant. Socialism doesn't work. The bigger the government is, the more inefficient things become. Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, Argentina, all examples of government with huge interventions and price regulations, all of them have failed.

Public administration will never be as a good as private administration (in most cases).

Capitalism may not be perfect. But socialism is not any better.

Lol at Cuba and NK, both dictatorships.  Then Venezula and Argentina both with the most corrupt skeezy leaders known to man.  probable with any system is not the system itself but those in charge who manipulate it for their own self interests.
