when the body never starts producing tesosterone
« on: May 21, 2016, 11:11:48 AM »
I have a nephew... lots of birth issues due to irresponsible mother...  He has a shunt in head, he's dealt with brain draining and other issues since birth, wasn't supposed to make it, etc.   He's thrived in a new home, he's healthy and a regular 13 year old kid now, doing great in school and all that.

The problem is, he hasn't grown in several years.  Something to do with the shunt in his head (still there).  They've had him on growth hormone for 6 or 8 months now, and he's grown taller as a result.  They're hoping he'll start puberty soon (turning 14 shortly) but it isn't happening yet.   He takes 2 shots a day, alternating abdomen, glutes and thighs.  But he's a nearly 14 year old with completely kid-like features.  Worrisome.

Does anyone have any knowledge on how they treat a kid that just plain doesn't start puberty?  He has a brain growth as well - it's just a benign growth and they're watching it.  Sitting near the hypothalamus and possibly hurting pituitary function.  I know the docs will have a plan down the road... right now, they're just *hoping* something kicks in, and hoping it doesnt grow.   Do they put a kid on test for life?  Other drugs to kickstart the process?  Does puberty just never happen for some individuals?  Baffling and new.

Just wondering if any getbiggers have any input on the subject?  I'll be pretty involved with medical care for him in the coming years.

;D   Yes, they're doing that.   Doc just want to wait a year or two to see if puberty kicks in.  GH working but puberty still not starting.

Figured I'd consult getbig since many here have experience with um, testosterone manipulation, and see what to be prepared for down the road.    Lots of times, getbig knows more about this stuff than the rushed and bothered doctors do.   Took a year to get them to give him the GH... under 48 inches and he's 13, they finally got into gear.

so he is 13 and isnt developed yet? um sounds like most kids. something must be off for them to put him on GH but lots of males dont reach puberty till 17-18. i literally didnt get pit hair until i was 18. had full bush around my cock pretty early but didnt really hit puberty with acne and pit hair until 18. sounds odd to be so concerned about a 13 or 14 year old. giv him til 18 then worry

I was there when it arrived.   Came time-sensitive UPS in a cooler.   Cost is 3500 a month I think?   It's definitely working.  Social security pays it, thankfully.

my nephew too is on GH.  The kid was a little too short for his age and his mother kept bitching about it to the docs. Finally they prescribed it to him. I don't think it was right, but I have no say in the matter. Anyway, they went away on vacation for a couple of weeks and I looked over the mail. I received a GH delivery that i had to place in the refrigerator. I thought how many getbiggers would've loved to get their hands on this.  ;D

Well it's better than obsessing with your self imo. There's a victory in letting go if done right, most people fall in constant self pity and regret.

Treatment obviously depends on why puberty hasn't started. I imagine late puberty can be psychologically tough so sometimes they medicate even if there is no obvious illness . Google says brief test therapy is sometimes used with no long term sides to kickstart the process. If endogenous test doesn't start later on the person is obviously put on it for life.

For height anastrazole has also been used with success (estrogen seals growth plates). I think oxandrolone too. I mean other than the obvious gh therapy. I saw some parents on forums say they would give their kids anastrazole illegally based on the research, to increase height a bit  :D I forget the specifics but I seem to remember it giving an extra inch or two of final height.

They sometimes use drug therapy to stunt growth in females as well, because being very tall as a female is tough sociologically so to speak.

Buddy of mine was short as a 14 or 15 year old and suffered because of it. I told him to speak to a doc and the doc measured his testicles. He was too matured, growth plates sealed, too late for gh therapy.
