Some guy in the 90s wrote a book about black people yelling in movie theaters. At any rate, he believed it came from our African roots claiming that a lot of the original language was sounds and dance. He hypothesized that spoken language was inadequate for blacks to express high emotion.

I felt the idea was silly as all fuck but am no Cultural Anthropologist.

Haha same here. I'm can accurately air guitar the solo to "Rainbow in the Dark" and like to think that people that can't hear what I'm listening to are impressed... oh well.
