Visas are given by country when you enter. You just apply for them. Places like Australia and Canada have digital visas. They then stamp the passport when you enter.

Other countries simply stamp the Visa on your passport when you get to their borders. Some don't even bother.

See, I know nothing about this. My wife (she used to travel to other countries when she competed) and she keeps telling my son and I we need to get a passport. So I guess I got the visa and passport mixed up?
