All parties in the UK had such a beautiful demon to blame their own shortcomings on. Now that is gone. Does anyone truly believe things will change? That some party (who?) will kick out muslims? They all need the votes, nothing will change. The same parties who allowed them in, the same parties who joined the EU, are still in power. In fact with this decision the demise of the UK will likely accelerate: poverty breeds radicalism.

I'm not surprised, there seems to be little rational thought on this topic. Of course there is an intentional conflation of the Brexit with stopping immigration. That's the point, this will not happen. It's pure symbolism, the political system will not change, hence the political choices also will not change. People who are celebrating now will realise in a few years that they might have well stayed in. This is not a revolution, it's something to give the masses the illusion of choice. A revolution would be every politician, from local on up, being hung from the nearest tree. This is window dressing, but people are apparently too thick to realise this.
