Vince if you bought less complicated cars you could repair them yourself with a basic toolkit.  Buying used luxury cars with existing problems sounds like a major headache.

Buick Lesabres are the most reliable car out there, once it's set up , I can drive it for years.  I only buy cars at the auction and the majority of them are late model cars.   I bid on the best deal possible based on checking out the car, price, etc.  For the cost of winning the bid, it's worth a week or 2 of headache.  I won't have no car payments with interest or have to pay collision.. only need liability.

Some people may laugh but those same people are the ones getting replied.  Even then, with that extra money they have little for putting regular maintenance so they end up broken down on the highway

Well folks, I gambled and lost.  Electrical issue was fixed but it will need the transmission rebuilt.   Cost will be $4450.  I'm also putting in a car stereo computer and nav system with backup rear camera for about 500 so it will go from a work car to the weekend car now.  After the work is done, I'll have the boys wash, wax, and detail the car

The good thing is that I'll save on the 400 a month on payments, interest, and additional amount for collision.  I'll also by default have a brand new car

That's how the auctions work...bid at your own risk.  Be a man if you roll snake eyes

Good thing they take Amex Platinum.  Get those points

Since I moved back to Greenville, I've been going to the laundromat spending about 20 bucks a week on clothes.  It gets a little expensive after awhile so I decided to buy a washer and dryer.  The least expensive set I could find was this Amana brand with practically no features.  With cords, dryer vent, delivery, disposal fees and taxes it came up to 900 bucks and delivery in a week??  Come on son

I don't think so.  I'm not some sucka MC who's going to spend that kind of money .   Here's how Vince Goodrum does business.  Went to a little known spot on the ghetto side outskirts of Greenville that a friend told me about.  No fancy signs or sales papers or any of that shit.

Nice, thanks.

No you were right all along, I was thinking of a different car.  My mistake.

Yes, I’m a fan of cars between 2000-2007 or so.  Not too many electronic doodads to give you phantom issues.  I’ve been having a lot of fun overhauling and repairing older cars myself.  Bummer about the transmission but like you say, that’s the nature of the auctions.

Cars at auction will have headaches, that is why they are at auction. If you factor in the headaches into the price, and do SOME due diligence, you can get great deals at auction. I've bought and sold at auctions (Years ago) and for someone counting pennies or is just frugile by nature, you CAN score good deals, or get taken to the cleaners.

I was aware of the transmission issues but I felt it was a good risk or being a solenoid or torque converter issue.  But it will Noa be the weekend show car instead of the work car.  When I get done, it's going to be extraordinary.  I've ordered proper hubcaps for if and I'm using my Amex points for the car computer and nav system.  I wouldn't have bought  at this point but now I will make the best of the solenoid thing
