LOL at all the discussion about a low end hifi. What most people do is buy a decent home theatre to go with the large screen TV. That solves the hifi issue for the home. You play your music through it.

Naturally it will cost more but Goodrum will sniff out the bargains.

About Bose. They started out in the sixties and built up hype through various systems that were different. Amar Bose insisted that if you couldn't hear the difference then why pay for so called higher fidelity equipment.

Over the decades his company has built up a reputation for providing good listening systems from walkaround to home systems. I don't think they are the cheapest but, like Apple, you pay for the brand.

Naturally Goodrum opts for the cheapest bluetooth system. There is a 20 and 30 wireless unit as well but are much more expensive. One thing even the best don't have is tone controls. You can't add more bass or treble so have to accept

what Bose considers the right sound. Goodrum can tell his visitors he has Bose so will feel proud of that.

If Bose was just "hype" it would have went out of business a long time ago.   The SoundTouch 10 is perfect for my living room for some great tunes while reading or making fun of you on Getbig.   It has an electronic equalizer so buttons for bass and treble are not needed.

To criticize my selection of audio is just bullshit and obviously I always shop for the best price.

Who is knocking Bose? Not me. I have access to the SoundTouch 30 system which sounds very nice in a room.

I have 901 Bose speakers as well as noise-cancelling headphones. I have Duntech Sovereign speakers and also RTR monitors with 25 inch bass and 34 drivers in each speaker.

I paid over $1000 for two connecting cables just to have state of the art. Very expensive hobby for sure.

Now that audio is taken care of (I have a Vizio Soundbar and a Polaroid Speaker for the bedroom, lets get to TV.  I will not be getting the Samsung Frame as its too expensive for what it does.   Need something 43-50 inches in the living room with Ultra HD 4k.

at that size just about any name brand is fine, look for refresh rate, number of HDMI conncections to suit your needs and of course price.  You can probably get a decent one around $500 these days
