-Not a Vince hater and this is not my mama's apartment, but it is my house. Photo taken in 2013. I've since had it painted white.

Once everyone sees the home, they'll see that it is a magnificent dwelling....especially with the decor I'll be putting in.   Time to bring some class to Getbig.

When is the official move in date?

I saw some pics of the backjard before. Very nice house and environment Prime. Would love to live there.

Looking at March 23rd.   Just got the permits today for moving it from Easley to Piedmont but I have to check the stakes on placement.   However, the move will take longer as once its on the property, I'll have to get services on as well as have the decks built and get the skirting.  Not only that, I'm going to also change the decor as I now have wood laminate floors instead of carpet but I intend to have a nice Scandinavian design that's going to be simple and modern.

For a gay person, you have pretty poor taste in interior design.   I would never buy something as ghetto as that.

The wool, hand tufted Crate & Barrel rug in the photo at the top runs $1,599. for a 9' X 12'. It works with mid-century design as does the one on the bottom.

Those rugs do not represent my style which tends to be more eclectic. I have antique Turkish, 100% wool, hand knotted rugs in my living room and kitchen. I was employed for 18 years as a home furnishings coordinator for Macy's. They apparently thought my design sense was OK.

Never disputed the price...I know it's expensive but it looks like something a dog would sleep on.  We are going to revoke some of your day points.

You are entitled to your opinion. People have different taste. I'm not discrediting your taste; why are you dishing mine when I already said those rugs don't fit my style?

This is the rug I recently choose for my living room. It is a copy of an antique Turkish 100% wool rug, which was hand knotted in Turkey. Imagine how many knots there are, each one knotted by hand. It may not be to your liking and that's fine with me. I've had the furniture for a longtime, but the rug is a new purchase. My style is eclectic, mainly because I've collected these items over the course of many years and I don't like tossing stuff.

I think you meant gay points and not day points, right? It's a misconception that gay folks automatically have better taste than straight folks do.

That's what I figured...you collected a lot of things and you are simply holding onto them because you spent so much.  The problem is where all of the patterns are just running together.....I had a similar place as yours until Vissy straightened me out on design.   But that's your business

Apparently he has no problem breathing in all those potentially toxic emissions.  Maybe he likes the fresh scent of formaldehyde. ;)

I once knew a real nice couple who moved into a brand new MH (beautiful place, and newly made, like Vince's).  The woman developed cancer and died less than two years later.  Her husband developed cancer and died within five years.  So they went from being at their happiest ever in life, to dead and gone, that quickly.  Thank God no children to be left behind.

Naturally, though, most who are in those homes don't die as they did, and a causal link isn't necessarily waiting to be found.  They were middle-aged smokers, as well, with other risky factors ongoing.

But I'll never forget visiting them and noticing the "newness" (shall we say), which caused me to give a half-hearted warning about chemicals fucking people and to please keep it in mind.  I didn't want to be too negative, since they were so joyous and thrilled with everything.  But it's a really, really terrible memory to look back upon and I'll forever wonder if there's something else I should have said or done.  (But what, really?  That's the problem.)

The warnings about "Chemicals Known to Cause Cancer" can't and shouldn't be taken lightly.  That's a fact.

So....you are trying to blame the death of 2 people to cancer on the chemicals used to make a mobile home which are the exact same chemicals used to make a regular home???   Come on now.   The likely cause was obviously smoking as I find it one of the most dangerous products out there in terms of cigarettes but the truth is that there's no written rule on "stopping death".   You can take preventive and obvious measures like not playing in traffic and fighting grizzly bears but when its your time....its your time.

Aggravating factors are called that for a very simple reason, V.  But I wasn't trying to claim a direct, definite, causal link and you know it.  No way I could climb into someone's system to know what's happening at every moment.

Here's my motivation: I like you and want to be able to look forward to your posts on here for years to come.  Is that so bad?

???

But I'll leave you with this: Bright warning stickers aren't terribly swell as decoration and they exist for a reason.

And your choice to switch out the carpet is a damn good one IMO.  Guaranteed the summers will be more pleasant.  In winter: throw down some Persian or whatever.

Only other reasonable choice is low-VOC carpeting and frankly that's not necessarily worth it (versus your current choice).

No, I think you're doing damn well and you'll have a much better life on this path than many Americans could ever, ever, ever dream of having.  Plus you can move your home if something terrible happens in this unstable world.  Most homeowners would lose all but a hitchhiking thumb and maybe a can of tuna or grits or something.  That's a fact.

Vince, don't be surprised by the neighbors being a bit jealous of you for having the newest and slickest mobile home in the community. You can ease the tension by getting one of TA's best pie recipes, baking them and giving them out during a moving-in soirée. Don't forget to use this as material for your YouTube channel.

Lol...I'll have to do a lot more cooking and prepping meals as I am farther away from Greenville and can't run out to the store as often.  Thank goodness for the huge pantry I have
