Why Do Bodybuilders Never Wear Clothes That Fit Them?
« on: June 29, 2016, 12:03:39 PM »
You either see them wearing extremely tight 2 sizes too small shirts, or you see them wearing extremely loose fitting shirts or hoodies that completely cover their physiques. You never see them wear clothes that fit them normally. Or the even dumber look, the hoodie tank top. Do bodybuilders realize how stupid they look in this shit?

It's almost as stupid as someone consistently posting pictures of 90s bodybuilders. :-\ :-\ :D :D

True. But still, all he does is create threads asking dumb questions. I'm pretty sure he's a gimmick but I'm no Getbig detective. Do as you will.

It's normally what's available, even xxxl shirts normally aren't all that bigger in the shoulder and arms yet massive in the gut area, they have to go rediculously large in size to get a tshirt big enough to comfortably cover big chest arms and delts

It would seem there are more than a couple of people who obsess about the attire other folks wear. What seems dumb to one person may be really snazzy looking to another. "Live and let live" that's my motto.

I have XL arms, chest and shoulders and a medium waist. So, to echo Halo's comment, I can either wear a shirt that fits my arms decently and looks like a mumu around my middle, or I wear a L shirt which is stretched up top and looks OK at the waist. I refuse to tailor t-shirts and polos.

I blame the mediocrity of men today. They all look like absolute garbage and I have to fit inside of little boxes that they create.

i still feel most people tend to pat themselves on the back when explaining why their clothes fit poorly

Why would you "refuse" to have your clothes tailored? Even small towns have tailors, or at least seamstresses, that can taper your dress shirts and jackets at the waist. I buy what fits up top, and they cut out the excess at the waist. Their prices are reasonable, in my opinion. Any kind of pullover is going to be hard , if not impossible, to put on if is tapered at the waist.

Best to get a XL shirt and take it to a tailor to get the waist trimmed.

The traditional drop (difference between waist and chest) on a suit is 6", athletic cut is only 8". Even with newer brands that account for gym rats, the drop isn't much better, so you're going to have to tailor the stuff. Most bodybuilders are broke, cheap, or just generally tacky, so you aren't going to get many doing that.

What's the value of having tshirts tailored?

Nowadays, you just buy the pants and coat separate. Thank God. My drop is 17-18"

This is interesting information. Fit people including many bodybuilders have a 10" or better drop from chest to waist. Mine is 12" and my physique is nothing special. Obviously suits with only a 6 or 8 inch drop are going to look sloppy.

Because they have no sense of style and awkward proportions means always tailoring.

1.) bbers just look like bloated fat bastards in suits
2.) clothes in hard to find off the rack when your a short, big guy
3.) can't buy tailored or custom clothes because they blow all their money on roids
4.) do it to look like a "freak" in public and that is just sad
