My dad literally just scheduled to have this auto pilot feature added to his Tesla.

Will make sure to tell him not to watch Harry Potter :D

That's why you don't drive in someone's blind spot.
Self driving cars.  Just what's needed so people can spend more time looking at Facebook and Instagram.  If a few of these folks perish, I will sit back an applaud.  Bravo Elon, bravo!

This car may actually help women navigate a 4way stop.  Imagine that some lady who can't even drive, now add 30 years to her and that could be our next leader.  We're all fucked.

a few months ago at work I was talking about this "new" selfdriving tech with a group of people that was all optimistic about this... Just told them it would be a gamble letting a computer driving for you.


Because we all know computer software and hardware are bulletproof from bugs and failure  ::)

Anybody who is ready to put their hands in the lives of beta firmware and start doing other things whilst their car is driving them is a fool. 

... but we should applaud these sacrificial lambs for their contributions to the beta testing.

I write firmware for a living.  I wouldn't trust a car to be 100% perfect driving me anywhere.. ever.   Very hard to anticipate all anomalous scenarios.

exactly. That, and hardware failure. I've had a couple of ECM units go bad on my cars over the years. It's not unusual. In fact quite common under a full "lifecycle" of a car. Certainly the more advanced smaller circuit boards wont be any different.

Prob watching it in 4K with 7.1 surround , had no idea he had his head cut off by a tractor trailer
