This was bound to happen and it's only gonna get worse. I was involved in LE for some time,87-97,and worked with different entities such as State Police ,FBI and on loan to my states biggest Sheriff's Dept and one thing I can say is when you're "on the job" you feel a sense of invincibility, a sense of entitlement.
I got away with more shit,shit I should've went to prison for. Most cops I knew were hardworking "honest" to a point but everyone had dirt and weeds in their backyard. Some were just plain psycho-fucking-paths plain and simple. The average officer has their own problem with authority which is why they abuse their power over others much like a child victim of sexual abuse can grow up to abuse others cause that is what was taught to them, a learned behaviour. Most cops cannot pass a true psychological test. Tests today are written in such a manner for certain reasons, one, imho, is so they can weed out the "softer prospects", ones who can and will use consequential thinking, and hire ones who react almost instantly...then deal with whatever comes their way.
Now that I've been out for 20yrs and have had multiple run ins with some real scumbag motherfuckers I can see why ppl hated me when I rocked a badge.
All these latest events were just a fuse to a powder keg. Anyone else here ever notice how these agencies solicit funds via phone call or snail mail? They hold fund raisers for LE families, LE equipment? All these blind assed citizens give give give BUT let some random cop pull them over, get talked to like they just killed baby seals, get shit planted on them or something as simple as getting tickets for minor infractions and their whole perception changes...the cops are now scumbags to them.
I feel for these cops and their families but you know what? This is what they get paid for. They want alk the perks if being a pig...well they gotta expect some bacon to be culled from time to time. Sounds fucked up I know but this is reality...
