Mccain: Let delegates vote any way they want at convention

It doesn't have to be Trump vs. HIlary.

She may have loretta'd her way past charges, but it can still be Ryan/Thune or anyone you want...

Mcain now encouraging the nevertrump goal of bouncing him at the convention -

Trump is down 11 points to Hilary.   The luster has worn off... people get it, Trump is loud, rude, immature, angry... and probably not all that good at understanding the issues, really.

Less likely... 3rd party makes noise.
More likely... the party just sucks it up and bounces Trump at the convention.  He is trying to lose this, or more terrible than anyone who's ever run for public office.

At the very least, the email story did not hurt Clinton in the poll, which on July 5 gave her a 10.2 percentage point lead over Trump; 40.2 percent to 30, with 29.8 percent saying that they were either undecided, intended to vote for another candidate or simply refused to answer the pollster’s questions.

But on July 6, the Hillary Clinton lead over Donald Trump had edged up to a full 11 points; 44 to 33, with just 23 percent falling into the third category.

In other words, the Reuters/Ipsos poll showed gains for both Clinton and Trump in the immediate aftermath of the FBI email announcement, and a drop in voters who said they hadn’t made up their minds, or would vote for a different candidate altogether. But Clinton’s gain slightly outpaced the headway made by Donald Trump in the daily tracking poll.

To me - the key thing is that so many people who are BIG in the party are staying home.

Rubio, who said he was going, suddenly cannot make time in July to go?  Gimme a break.

IF IF IF they're going to oust trump... nobody wants their fingerprints on it.  They want it to be a convention of Reince + Ryan avoiding cameras + a shitload of state and party officials making the call/vote, and quietly selecting a new ticket to run against Hilary.

If Rubio is there, then his name/face are on it.  Same with jeb.

I've always said - IF it comes down to a group of party elders sitting at a table, with a lifetime of favors, wealth, and threats between them - somehow, it ends up being Jeb/Rubio, no matter what the votes are.

Once it comes down to making deals, Trump is bounced, Cruz is hated, Walker doesn't have the support yet, Rand is paper thin.    Jeb stands up and takes the crown and everyone is too scared to do a thing.  He is a Bush, and they win presidencies and change history, and if it goes brokered... bush/Ryan, Bush/Kasich.... Bush/whoever...

I still cannot bet against a Bush.  Nope.
