One of the great reliables at Universal Studios when they needed someone big and impressive.
And one of the really good guys in the motion picture industry among the very few.
He's just getting a start there and has no idea what the future would bring.

Where were you when all this was happening? Pendelton or Lajeune? (I can't spell LaJeune.... I was always a west coast Marine and even further west most of my career.)

PS..... YEP! I did meet Chesty Puller! And Bill and Clint and even managed to be a decent friend of Vince's much later after that picture was taken.
Good days back then when the stunt guys owned their own hell raising bar in the San Fernando Valley, but I can't find it no more!
They used to use me to test the breakaway bottles and to see if the window would really break safely when I got thrown through it.
Oh, yea.... and also the breakaway chairs and tables.
