shurieeeeeWOW! I am disgusted!!!!! I can't believe how @philheath was treated last night. We had a sudden family emergency and had to fly to Seattle. No matter what Phil gets hit with he still has to do his job-he is 9 weeks out from the Olympia we had to make sure he trained. Unfortunately, this horrible judgmental employee by the name of Olivia Hoyt @24hourfitness in Renton Seattle refused to allow Phil in the gym. Not only did Phillip beg to pay for a day pass- he also had his best friend Chris with him who is a member of the gym and Chris added phil to his account as a guest! Olivia Hoyt told Phil that "he should have prepared ahead of time and printed a guest pass before thinking to even step foot in the gym" Olivia decided to put the clip board in Phil's face and immediately called the police on @philheath. We are so thankful that the Renton Police Department treated Phil with respect and laughed it off. I am disgusted and can't help but feel this is not only the worst customer service EVER but it's an example of racism/discrimination. @24hourfitness I hope you have a firm talk with your Employee Olivia Hoyt. I can now truly say I know what racism and discrimination looks like and it hurt me to watch my man go through this especially while dealing with heartache from our family emergency. Really Olivia?

You're going to call the police on a man who's desperate to train and is clearly on a guest list and was nothing BUT kind to you?! I'm disgusted. I'm sad for this world. I'm sad for the African American and ALL people who are judged and discriminated against bc of the color of their skin and discriminated against for how they look. It doesn't matter if they speak with kindness and are completely clam. As a white/Native American Woman, I can wholeheartedly say I know what it feels like to be discriminated against and it breaks my heart to watch my man get treated like a criminal because the COLOR of his SKIN! What does our future look like for our future children? I am heart broken and want to know #WhenWillThisStop

I am telling you guys that they don't allow guest workouts after certain times and if he had been nice about it they may have made an exception but if you go there with an entitled attitude and try to intimidate the young woman who is there by herself...then yes I would call the cops too.

I didn't read any of the above posts, but I ran a 24 hour fitness before I opened my gym. The graveyard shift was 10pm-6am or some locations 11pm-7am.. The closing shift at the end of the night (10pm) will drop all cash in a dropsafe and the register will not open again until the morning receptionist opens the cash drawer. They can't sell any retail, drinks or day passes during the graveyard shift. The company hires "shoppers" to make sure graveyard employees don't sell day passes, then pocket the money. No way the 24 hour employees will take a chance that the guest might be a shopper hired by the company.

She chose to refuse him service because he didn't have the proper printed pass, as is the policy.

She didn't say/do anything that made us believe race had anything to do with her decision.

Turn on the news, Police are murdering people, people are murdering police. There are REAL race issues happening in America. Not being able to train your chem-assisted muscles for an upcoming beauty pageant at a place you aren't a member doesn't quality.
