I've Taken The Advice Of Getbig & Using Credit Cards For Points

I've always been big on paying cash for everything but after speaking with some fellow Getbiggers via PM, I've gotten an AMEX business card and am going to put everything on the card and pay it off each month to get the points and rewards....just to see how it goes.

We have a consultant in at work who pays for all his grocery shopping off rewards points from his work travel expenses.....am very jealous

I got refused a contact mobile phone for having no credit history at the time, they say no history is worse than bad history.

I know someone who had this no history issue and it was indeed brutal. With no credit history you can get royally screwed with huge interest, excessive deposits, or just flat turned down.

If you're going to avoid building a credit history you better have a big pile of cash if you want to live in the modern world.

What business expenses do you have a month?

Your imaginary boy in India? Your once a year hosting of your dead site for $9.99? Imaginary pay per click fees?

if you had a real business, you'd have HAD to have a card all these years to function at optimal levels. You can't run a biz in cash in this day & age.

Only a life time minimum wager who works for $10.54hr would think that this was possible.

business reward cards are awesome. Just never redeem point for cash. The best deals on points I have found though AMEX website is dinning, but check the ratios.

I use the credit card for most of my purchases. At the end of the month I have enough points to pay for my groceries for a week. Points are great.

I'm a huge fan of AMEX corporate and barclaycard apple rewards. AMEX rewards are redeemed for date night ;D, and barclaycard is redeemed for apple gift cards.

Good call on the Amex if you travel. I haven't paid for a plane ticket in over three years except one or two times. It's a great card to have.

Congrats, you just put or added more debt to your business. Now you have bust your nut each month to pay off that Amex. You can operate a successful business with ZERO debt. Bad business move.

You understand how a LLC works right? Plus he is going to pay it off same month, he should be fine. unless he falls into that early "first time credit card owner" trap and buys shit he cant afford.

Yes, of course I understand. But if he's going to pay it off anyway just stay with a business debit card. Just my opinion. We've always operated debt free since day one.
