Modern bodybuilding as we find it today will continue to be as it is today!
But it has not, nor will it ever, grow as fast as Physique and Classic Bodybuilding.
And the NPC/IFBB wil NOT forsake bodybuilding competitions in favor of the above. That's a guarantee!
And another "BUT" ..... Regardless of what GetBiggers think of these new divisions, they have proven to be pretty damn popular among the contenders and the fans alike.
I expect that this weekend's 2016 NPC USA Championships will draw over 1,000 competitors .... the majority of whom might not be what we call modern day bodybuilders.
WIGGS will be present in force up front, so it's gonna be interesting to hear his comments on this here board after the event.
My big QUESTIONS are:
1. When will the pro Classic/Physique winners start winning cash somewhat similar to the IFBB Olympia contenders?
2. Are the present IFBB pro Physique contenders receiving as much magazine publicity or internet publicity as their IFBB pro counterparts?
3. Are the supplement companies offering worthwhile sponsorships to these new contenders? (Worthwhile = $80,000 and up.)
(Not sure but I have heard that one bodybuilder in particular has a $100,000 a year contract with a major sup company.)
Any truth to that?
In the old days any IFBB pro was somewhat fortunate to receive a $40,000 contract from Mr. Weider.... but times have changed.
Any personal knowledge to any of the above would be appreciated!
