Mr. O heights -

1) L Scott - 5' 6-7"
2) S Oliva - 5' 9"
3) A Schwarzenegger - 6' 1-2" much debate.
4) F Columbu - 5' 5"
5) F Zane - 5' 9"
6) C Dickerson - 5' 6"
7) S Bannout - 5' 7"
8) L Haney - 5' 11"
9) D Yates - 5' 10"
10) R Coleman - 5' 11"
11) J Cutler - 5' 9"
12) D Jackson - 5' 6"
13) P Heath - 5' 9"

Average 68.8 inches tall. If there were two heights reported multiple places, I used the higher number. So, the average Mr. O  has a height between 5' 8" - 5' 9".

I also glanced at the second and third placers, and taller guys seem to do a tiny bit better, but not much.

I'd say 5'11"

The roughly the height of Ronnie & Ruhl

Both actually were 5'10". Ronnie is even shorter now after neck, back and hip surgeries.

ronnie and yates were the perfect heights, not too tall and not too short. arnold though he had a better physique, wouldn't be able to compete with them as he was a bit stringy in terms of schmoe judging criteria.

If their structure is good then taller wins hands down.

Put 2 Arnolds one 6'2" the other 5'9" and who wins?

Hell, give the shorter one an inch on their biceps and it still won't be close.

In the history of the O and bbing how many elite guys were 6 plus.....

Franco Columbo was MAX 5'3"-5'4" (barely taller than 5'2" Danny Padilla)
Jay Cutler is MAX 5'8"
Arnold WAS 6'1"-6'2" but has lost a lot of height over the years and is 5'10"-5'11" today.

Tall enough to not look short, but short enough to pack on dense muscle onto your frame.

Since I'm 5 ft 9.5 inches exactly, I'd say it was the perfect ht for the perfect bodybuilder.

Now you need the number that looks at each year. For instance, Arnold, Haney, Yates, and Ronnie account for over half of all the Mr Olympia wins.

And Cutler is 5'7 and tops out at 5'7 1/2. Yet claims 5'9.

Yup, Jay is nowhere near 5'9" barefoot.

But none were O winners except Arnold

Best bbers ever were between 5'9 to 5'11

Ronnie, Cormier, flex, Haney, Dorian, levrone, etc

Imo 1993 flex wheeler is the best bber ever

Well when I look at Haney/ Yates till now - what I (maybe incorrectly) consider the beginning of the modern "type", the sweet spot appears to be 5'9" - 5' 11". More importantly, this sentence is wider than Heath.

Yeah which is really 5'9 or 5'10.  ;D
Being too short looks fucking weird, and special. If they can pack on the muscle, the taller the bigger.

WoooSHHHHHH

Ronnie was listed at 5'10" before he became a contender and then they bumped him up to 5'11". He was never over a flat 5'10". Today he is even less due to multiple surgeries. Lee Haney was MAX 5'11".

I agree. I'd include 5'8" in that sweet spot (5'8"-5'11") though.

5'9'' should be the very absolute minimum to compete for the real Mr O title. Would prefer 5'11'...
For shorter guys there should be a little league competition, the best guy in it can win a trip to Disneyland....

 8) says Dr Dutch, 6'1'' plus a bit...
