North Jersey is a different state from south jersey. South Jersey has that backwards hillbilly accent and north is hard core. South Jersey worships Philly while no self respecting North Jersey guy would ever be seen dead at an Eagle game with those inbred low lifes.
I would like to add another name to the Jersey list. Dave Draper from north Jersey.
I heard from drug heads that the best state is California. You drive to Mexico and shoot up your steroids once a week and come back to train. I just say no.

FL just doesn't bring the image of BB.
I beg to differ. Anyway, I'm going with Florida and California.

(Southern) California. End of story. Period.
You have to go with history. Where would bodybuilding be today if Pumping Iron had never existed (set in So. Cal), Muscle Beach, and the birthplace of Gold's or World's, not to mention the film industry that started exposing bodybuilders to the public at large and historic photos of bodybuilders at Muscle Rock shot on Malibu Canyon.
I can't believe this question was even asked, it's not even open to debate.

The Weiders moved to SoCal after being based in...Union City, NEW JERSEY. B.F.D. And Arnold was from Graz, so that makes Austria the birthplace of modern bodybuilding. C'mon, it's not even arguable.

B.F.D.? Fukk all the acronyms, say what you mean. New Jersey is the true bodybuilding mecca. Graz, Austria? C'mon, bodybuilding is more than one person, no matter how famous that one individual has become.

I was being sarcastic, I think the logic you used for your N.J. argument if applied would equally lead to the ludicrous conclusion that Graz is the capital of bodybuilding. In other words, I don't agree with either. It begins and ends with So. Cal.

I knew what it meant, but if you're going to state it, STATE IT. So Cal. is where guys go after they've built their physiques to seek "exposure". Ronnie, Dorian, and Lee Haney didn't train in So. Cal. That's about 22 Sandows right there. The bodybuilding title stays in NJ until proven otherwise.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAH................." Ask the average American if he was going to make a bodybuilding pilgrimage where would he go. New Jersey? Not a chance. They would go to Gold's on Venice Beach. They would go to Muscle Beach. Holy crap, look at our Governor. As far as the title "staying" in New Jersey, it never belonged there.

As long as you find a gym you can really get a good workout in, and a grocery store near you, as well as plenty of places to eat your set. It's all in your head

I agree that mental "state" means far more than geographical "state." I confine my argument regarding Cali to the latter.

Yeah so it makes cali a better place for many because of the weather and the sunshine and water. But then you have people that kinda like retreating in a more colder less sunny murky atmosphere that makes them feel stronger and feel to push harder. I like to train in both, but would like to train more so somewehre like las vegas. Also prices come in to question more populated places have cheaper supps, since competition stores...meat groceries cheaper. Wal mart meat sucks it's like rubber very weird

If I was training for a fight, I'd want to be in the mountains. Think of Rocky Balboa chopping wood in the snow in Russia getting ready for Ivan Drago.
