this new generation didn't grow up with a war. I mean, Iraq was mainly robots and drones after the initial occupation, so the 25 year olds today were 12 when we briefly had men in harms way daily.
I bet she took time to snapchat before running, but didn't bring any sort of self defense device. Even a small blade is enough to wing the guy so there's blood on the ground, and even if he stick around to kill, there's no rape/fire, as he might be bleeding out too.
This generation thinks being vigilant is a bad thing. it's not.
