Phils life doesn't sound much different than millions and millions of kids.

Kai Greens life, on the other hand, is different--in and out of foster care. Now that's tough!

how about the men and women who have served in the military? Hell my cousin did 3 tours in afghanistan and I have never seen him brag about his dangerous past  ::)

Well, that is not a good analogy, considering the majority of people do not serve in the military. I mean, I get what you're saying. However, Phil talks about his parenting splitting at 2 1/2 years old, and seeing his friend get shot. I mean, is this really a good description of a "dangerous" past?

Ive seen someones head split open with the car "club," a kid get hit in the head with a bat, someone get stabbed where I grew up, a few stabbings in high school (I went to the 2nd worst high school in NYC), and other bad shit. When you grow up in a large, urban city, you're going to see a lot of things.  This is not counting the random fights and muggings I've seen while riding the New York City subway.  8) 8)
