Sheriff Clarke is the Milwaukee COUNTY Sheriff - different jurisdiction.  The police chief FLYNN (D), and Mayor Barrett (D) have control over city, NOT Clarke.  He has been battling with them for years.  That area of the city as most has been in turmoil for DECADES.

Sheriff David Clarke has requested the National Guard help calm the riots that broke out in Milwaukee late Saturday night.

According to Fox, Clarke consulted with Gov. Scott Walker and Wisconsin National Guard Major Gen. Donald Dunbar before asking for aide.

“We cannot allow for a repeat of what happened Saturday night,” the Milwaukee County Sheriff said in a statement coinciding with his Sunday morning request. “I am going to utilize all available resources to accomplish that.”

Probably all hands on deck in situation.s like that.  Clarke's name is probably used in national reports because he's often in the spotlight and outspoken.  The county sheriff's dept. has control over highways, county parks, special county events and such.

Get your facts straight (which haven't fully been released yet)  before spewing speculation. Victim has 13 priors, had a stolen gun from a house break in in an adjacent county, was holding that gun when shot after being told to drop the weapon after fleeing the officer.  Video will likely show the officer acted appropriately, who by the way was also black.

Most police agencies operate by being empowered by the local Sheriff. There are a bunch of laws that go into it as well, but I think if the Sheriff wants to take over that place, he can do so.

Ill agree with most of what you're saying, but Im not aware of any part of Detroit that is guaranteed murder for whites. There are areas you wisely avoid, as is the same with Flint, but its not like its cross this line and get killed.

The city's rep has made it avoidable for most whites, Ive heard many Arabs refer to Detroit being worse off than their war torn countries, lol.
