Looking good, congrats. I remember on ironage you used to discuss how much more difficult it is to get in contest shape as you get older. Was this the hardest you've had to work to achieve winning condition?
Wow, it gets harder every year you compete. This was my first show in 4 years and I'm 53 now. The diet is the hardest of course. I think I pushed myself harder for this prep than ever before. I felt like
I was brain dead so many times. I did a photo shoot in January to see how I would look ripped at my age and I looked pretty good so I stayed lean all year and then decided to compete this month. But,
even staying lean, it was still really tough. I'm very happy with how I looked though and it felt great to get back onstage. I was a little rusty the first time out but I'm competing again this weekend so
I'm sure I'll feel a lot better about being onstage. It's a great sport and very challenging but that's what it's all about! Thanks for asking.
