Am I the only mean SOB here that requires my offspring to walk on the treadmill on the days when it's too hot, busy, or otherwise, preventing them from walking or biking outside and getting exercise?

In Florida, the summers are literally 85 degrees by 9 am.  Kids can't play outside in that.  If it's not a water park day, yes, I do require 12 to 15 minutes of .8 to 1.0 mph on the treadmill to keep their guts pumping and feeling good, staying fit.

Any other parents do that, or am I just a cruel bastard?  If my kid was as heavy as that poor child pictured above, I think it's MY fault for making high-calorie food available, and not making exercise a part of the daily to-do list.
