Finally managed to catch Tuesday's Olympic weightlifting action involving the +105kg mens class.
Some real quality in the Snatch with Lasha Talakhadze of Georgia breaking Behdad Salimi record with a 215kg lift, only for the Iranian to go 1kg better in his final lift and get his record back (also equalling Antonio Krastev's lift set in 1987 under the old weight classes).
Things got ugly in the C&J with the 2012 gold medalist Salimi failing on all three of his 245kg attempts and bombing out of the competition. He was deemed to not have locked his elbows when performing the Jerk on his first two attempts. His 2nd attempted was originally white lighted by the judges but overturned by the jury. One member of the jury was Iraqi and the Iranian's think he was the one who conspired against their man.

22 year old Talakhadze went on to C&J 258kg and take the gold medal. With a total of 473kg, he topped Rezazadeh's previous record (although is still 2kg short of Leonid Taranenko's all time record).
It's a shame though that Salimi bombed and that Aleksey Lovchev/Russia was banned.
A battle between Talakhadze, Salimi and Lovchev could have been one of the most epic displays of weightlifting of all time.
