Tattoo regrets
« on: August 27, 2016, 06:35:26 PM »
Curious if anyone else has any tattoos they regret. I had a couple done when I went through the retarded "bad ass" stage. I was in college earlier twenties I was into rap really heavy, drugs etc. They just don't fit my personality anymore I have a good job I'm married etc. I feel like I'm kind of outcasted at first by people until they get to know me. I have to shave my head I'm bald, I'm built pretty well and super dark skin so I might look scary to normal white people who I like to associate with. We were at the beach today i just felt kind of weird. Non of my tattoos are super offensive but they just don't fit anymore.

Of course.

Oh well probably not worth the hassle of removing. You can only see mine when I'm shirtless. I just feel funny at the beach around normal people. When I was single humping everything with two legs it was cool.

Never understood the tattoo culture/fad that's been going on the past 15/16 yrs ever since the late 90's and early 2000's

The old generation used to get them and it meant something and was more underground, then generation nothingness came a long with all the tribal tatts and tramp stamp fads and now it's all over the place in sports, bbing, reg joes

Tried to remove one, didn't work. So I covered it. Still got a few regrettables, but f it. No one sees 'em.

I had to get a cover up with the same material on one arm, because the first tattoo artist I went to sucked ass.
When to say super dark skin, are you talking Wesley Snipes black?

I've never had a tattoo in my life but I promised my team if they bring us four wins I would get a tatoo of our schools football logo with along with "breakthrough 2016". Last night we won the season opener for the first time in over 10 years.

That's cool though I would love to help coach high school ball. College ball took the love out of it for me.

The motivation is that they haven't won league game in 13 seasons. Even this win was special.

At one time tattoos were something people used to stand apart from the crowd.  Now they are used for people to fit in with the crowd.

You regret it because you're a different person now than you were then, but later you'll be different than now.  Therefore, it is not possible to affix yourself to yourself because there is no enduring self.  There is only becoming.  That's why the Japs use cherry blossoms in their tats.  It's a symbol of impermanence.  As opposed to the western perception of a tattoo as something permanent or defining.  There is nothing permanent to define.  The sunrise doesn't last all morning.

I have many tattoos, dont regret any of them but dont walk around showing them. I usually wear hoodies or jerseys so long sleeves. I got them for me, they are Memento like, reminders on my arms,....cause Im a bit slow
Like the one on your ass that says "enter" on one cheek and "here" on the other?
