That's really interesting, Tim.
It never stops.  These people are fucking ridiculous at this point.  Now they suggest changing the Anthem because it was Anti-British at the time.  You can't make this shit up.  Really.

Fun fact, my house was built for the Granddaughter of Francis Scott Key.

Solid post, Tim.  Didn't know this.
I bet you also didn't know that per capita, right up until the civil war, more blacks owned slaves than whites.

If you stretch a rubber band it heats up a little.  If you hold it there and let it reach room temperature, then let it spring back, you'll notice it's colder.

Compared with the misinformation on the Statue of Liberty, I don't see how anyone could have a problem with the Star-Spangled Banner.  Not at all.

One of those statistics that means nothing out of context.  Freed slaves would often buy family members to protect them.  So yes, many freed blacks would own 1 or a few family members, who were not then treated as slave labor.  On the other hand, plantations were owned by the rich, the 1% of whites.  And these 1% would own thousands of slaves each.

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH  Thousands?  Are you fucking kidding me?  I think only one person in the history of the US owned barely 1,000 and that because he had six plantations.

Besides, plantation life for blacks was a lot better than life for a black in New York.  Do we need to have this conversation yet again?

The largest slaveholder in NC at one time was a black man and he was doing it to make money for the most part.  Hope this helps.

The first slaveholder in the US was a black man.  Where do you think slaves were bought from?  From blacks selling other blacks.

Give me a fucking break. Fogarty.  Let me guess, you support reparations as well.  ::)

So what? Are you saying that justifies it?  Who ever "started it", it was still immoral.

And I have no doubt that there was a black man in NC who owned a large number of slaves and used them for slave labor.  Again, so what?

Your point, I think, was that blacks were just as guilty as whites for slavery.  That is not supported by the facts.  In the 1800s a white minority kept a black majority in slavery.

Choosing not to stand for the national anthem is a form of speech, and speech is protected by the First Amendment.  The actual values of our country are more important than symbols of our country.

The NFL is not patriotic.  It uses patriotism to make money.

The Star Spangle Banner is a poor choice for our national anthem, which it has been since only 1931.  Francis Scott Key was, in modern terms, a white supremacist.

Have you ever heard the third verse of The Star Spangle Banner?

No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/king-stand-star-spangled-banner-article-1.2770075

"While it has always been known that the song was written during American slavery and that when those words about this nation being the "land of the free" didn't apply to the millions who had been held in bondage, few of us had any idea that the song itself was rooted in the celebration of slavery and the murder of Africans in America, who were being hired by the British military to give them strength not only in the War of 1812, but in the Battle of Fort McHenry of 1814. These black men were called the Corps of Colonial Marines and they served valiantly for the British military. Key despised them. He was glad to see them experience terror and death in war — to the point that he wrote a poem about it. That poem is now our national anthem."

Maybe it is time to change the national anthem again.

Spoken like a true leftist.

He's free to make an ass out himself and ruin his career anyway he wants. It's his stupidity that he actually believes the false idiology that the media and the administration perpetuate every day. In other words he's a minion. You can add BLM, Transgender and gay rights to this as well.

Specifically which rights do you think should be denied to gay people, Coach?

Quit your spinning as usual. No one is "oppressed" no one is singled out and sure as fuck no one but a small majority gives two shits about any of this execpt the spoon-fed left and college kids. It's a false narrative all around.

So gay people should have the EXACT same rights as straight people?  It's a simple Q, and you turned it into an attack.

Not sure what you are trying to say here.

Are you saying that America wasn't founded exclusively by white men?

This gets so tiring. The history of the world is steeped in filth and grime...stop trying to make others feel guilty for things their ancestors did.

Those that hate the USA so much, should leave and go to those much better and less racist countries. There's no one stopping  them. They choose to stay because life here is great.

The ingratitude sickens me.

Best thing would be if Kapernick got planted by some DL or LB and as he's lying there in pain the guy who hit him pulled out a little American flag and put it on him.

Of course the NFL is not patriotic. They are only patriotic when it suits their agenda to make money. This is obviously what all businesses do.
