Phil didn't compete that much as a pro. I wonder how well he would have done if he had. He won the NPC USA overall in 1984, beating Labrada that year.
Then, he won the light heavy and overall at the 1985 NPC Nationals, beating both Labrada and Ron Love for the overall. At the 1985 World Championships (Universe),
he lost to Josef Gromulus in the light heavies and disappeared for a few years. At the '86 Night of the Champions, Labrada won and Ron Love was second so
Phil probably would have won that show if he would have entered it. He finally came back in 1988 and won the Chicago Pro Show, beating out Gary Strydom
and John Hnatyshack. I was hoping he would do the Olympia that year because he probably would have made the top six but he stepped away from the scene
again.
