people need to look into the training and eating habits of william shatner, rather than fitness gurus and bodybuilders. he seems far more healthier than most that age.

He's been wearing a wig since the original Star Trek, which helps.

Shats dropped some weight over the past few years too.  He stays active, rides horses, does convention appearances all over the world and has a young wife.  Good for him.  Hope he lives to 100.

Walter Koeing (Chekov) is 80 and has also aged very well.  Nichelle Nichols is 83 and is recovering from a recent stroke.

agreed diet dictates the level of physical ,biological and mental output

with a steroid and chicken diet your physical output supercedes your biological output

Always got the feeling this Shat fella is a huge dingleberry in real life. Like, if you met him on the fly in public, he'd be very ego-ed out and standoffish.

when Shatner met Schwarzenegger
http://uproxx.com/filmdrunk/arnold-schwarzenegger-has-never-heard-william-shatner/

Shatner was finished eating so he and his family threw all their stuff in the trash and started to get up to leave. At this point Captain Kirk sees The Terminator and his eyes get really big. As his family walks out William makes a b-line for Arnold, extends his hand and says:

“Bill Shatner, nice to see you”.

Arnold shook the hand but other than that did not acknowledge Shatner’s existence in any way. He didnt lift his head, didnt utter a word, he actually seemed really annoyed that he was being bothered. Shatner appeared stunned. I think he was expecting a BIG BIG reaction. But no, Shatner got SHAFTED big time. He got nothing. Less than nothing. It was one of the most awkward snubs I’ve ever witnessed. After a few moments of waiting for that big reaction, a red faced Shatner scurried away.

After Shatner had vacated the area Arnold’s son looked over at his dad and said:

Son:
Dad, that was William Shatner.

Arnold:
Who is William Shatner?

Son:
Are you serious dad? He was on Star Trek and a ton of other TV shows. I’m pretty sure he’s like really really famous. You should know who he is, you’ve probably even met him before.

Arnold:
I have no idea who that man was.

Son:
DAD come on. He does all those commercials for that airline website Priceline.

Arnold:
Ohhhhhh… He jumps around a lot and looks very silly in different costumes, right? Is that him? [Isn’t he always just wearing a suit in the Priceline ads?

Son:
Yes dad, that’s him. He has also been in like a million other TV shows and movies. He’s really famous, I dont believe you’ve never heard of him.

Arnold:
How am I supposed to remember all that? I don’t care about Star Trek. I didn’t recognize that man. How’s school going are you getting homework done at your mom’s house? I’m hungry where’s our chicken?

TheShape.

And you'd be pretty much right.  My friends and I had to work with him directly earlier this year at a comic con of all places (you guys probably don't even believe me lol).  He's very direct and bossy, and doesn't like to chit chat with his fans at all.  Yelled at some of my assistants.  Made others cater to him, drive him around, demanded his own private lounge, wouldn't interact with other actors there, etc.  Very much a diva.  Kind of sad, when everyone enables him (and we were at fault when we worked with him--it was our job) his entire life, that's all he knows.  At the end he was fairly pleasant, but I'm guessing that's because his appearance was ending and he could go home with his $$$$$$$$$ that he just made.

I would do the exact same thing, as the CAPTAIN OF THE STARSHIP ENTERPRISE.

He is in his 80's. He is a Getbigger by association. You do the math.

Why wouldn't we believe you. You draw for comics :). I remember talking to you in 2001 on some comic board about roids lol.

Always got the feeling this Shat fella is a huge dingleberry in real life. Like, if you met him on the fly in public, he'd be very ego-ed out and standoffish.

I met him by accident in an alleyway outside a Sci Fi Con in Denver.  I went out there to smoke a joint alone because I was sick of my friends always smoking my weed.  A door opened in the wall right next to me, outwards, and as it closed, on the other side of it, was revealed William Shatner and two security personnel.  Shat kinda jumped a little and the security guys froze.

No one knew what to do.  I didn't.  It's William Shatner.  Holy shit.  And I think I freaked him out.  Then I realized I was holding smoking maijuana so I tried to drop it real casual-like and we all just stood there in silence staring at each other waiting for something to save us.  I was really stoned but I managed "Hey man you were great in Kingdom of the Spiders."  He said, "Oh.  Thanks."  But it didn't serve to relieve the tension much.  I thought that would demonstrate that I wasn't just some Star Trek fan, you know?  I knew Kingdom of the Spiders, even though it was awful.  No one knows that movie.  And I was being really polite about his performance in it, which technically I didn't have to be.  But we all went back to standing there being uncomfortable without further dialogue about his film career until a limo pulled up at last and they all got in.

As it drove away I picked up the joint and re-lit it and contemplated the significance of what had just happened.  I'm not sure what getting busted by Captain Kirk means but I'm certain that he remembers me and I find some satisfaction in that.
