What If The IFBB Legalized Drugs...But Only Certain Ones?
« on: September 12, 2016, 05:02:31 PM »
To get bodybuilding back into the glory days of unbloated physiques, double chins and pregnant bellies. What if the IFBB let bodybuilders take drugs but only ones they permit on a list? What if they ban HGH, Insulin, Tren and diruectics? What would we have left? Would it be a better competition?

This is another subject I know nothing about but I ASSUME that it would be difficult to control and the testing procedures would be expensive.

And I am sure that there would be many other 'roadblocks' along the way which some of the more knowledgeable GetBuggers will be mentioning.

Under what conditions are today's testing procedures administered .... if any at all?

The IFBB pro or amateur? (they are really two different orgs)

Orgs can't overrule governments, so legalize is the wrong word.  In addition performance enhancing drugs are not illegal in much of the world.

Orgs can set rules for their events, and choose how to verify people are following those rules, and what do when people break the rules.

The pro IFBB doesn't test for performance enhancing drugs.

The amateur IFBB kind of tests for drugs in their local, national, regional and world amateur championships.

But then they created the various Arnold Amateurs and Amateur Olympics, specifically for competitors who don't want to enter drug tested contests.  No one even pretends those contestants are drug free.
