I suspect lots of things boggle your mind.

Tariffs raise the cost of importing products into the country, so it will make sense then, to just make things here again.

I just did speak on it. Sure it is possible. Tariffs on imported goods will make it easily possible. Tariffs worked before for the American worker, and they will work again for them.

The American Establishment says otherwise, because Free Trade has allowed them to stuff their pockets at gigantic levels, at the expense of the American workers, whose new jobs will be protected by new tariffs.

Another reason that Trump will get union rank and file vote, and the black vote.

50 million american jobs in manufacturing?  there are exactly 51 million people not working who aren't retired.  That is a job for EVERY PERSON in america.

50 million.   kick out 11 million illegals and you're already ten million short to fill the new jobs ;)

what will we be manufacturing to pay for 50 million workers?  what is that, 50000 new plants?

50 million?  seriously?  I was ready to debate 5 million with you.  Freaking 50?   lol

trump just went on tv and made a huge promise - 25 million new jobs.  that's incredible and would essentially cure the nation of its economic woes.

yet you promise 50 million.   amazing.

Just keep supporting the the Establishment lies, if you want. It won't ever be true. "We" employ more than 200 million people in China alone, that are doing jobs, for export to the USA, for China, that used to be done here in the USA. So 50 million new (old) jobs here, when tariffs are re-instituted, is no exaggeration.

50 million jobs.   explain.  you just doubled trump's lofty predictions, which many say may be a stretch.

nobody will stand for 2000$ ipads, even if means their neighbor has a good job.  americans are already spending almost 100% of what they make.  Reduce their buying power by 35% and we're in a never-ending depression as "50 million" people manufacture plastic stuff nobody can afford.  The new black market would now be plastic spatulas and Xboxes.

You are deluded, or stupid, doesn't matter which. Tariffs will increase workers incomes by at least 35%, by eliminating the unfair low wage competition from turd world countries. Those who want to work will be able to get a good paying job, without having the brains to write code for computer software, just as was possible, before that shit Bill Clinton signed NAFTA into law. That's what started the good paying job loss cycle in America.

How?  that money goes directly to the govt.  This will let trump pay for all his programs, including subsidizing child and elderly care for poor people.

How fucking simple minded can you be? The Tariffs protect American Jobs. The government collects the tax on what is imported, but businessmen realize that then they can produce the products here instead, and cheaper by employing Americans, and create jobs for Americans. What is so difficult for you to understand about that?

Because I don't believe that it'll only cost 35% more to employ americans, than it is to employ a teenager in mexico or china.

Minimum wage in Mexico is $4.60 a day.   Think on that.  We're paying people 5-6 bucks a DAY to manufacture for US import.   Add 35% to that, and you're STILL only looking at under ten bucks a day.

it's hard to get any american to step foot in a factory for ten an HOUR, much less a day.   I think you're overlooking the 15 to 20x more we have to pay american workers.

Because I don't believe

It doesn't matter what you believe. Tariffs protected American business and jobs before, and it will work again. "Free Trade" has impoverished the middle and working classes, and they know it, so they will vote for Trump, because Hillary is the same old establishment shit.

how are we going to pay american workers 20x what mexican workers are being paid?

where does that money come from?    Is dollar Tree going to charge $20 per item instead of $1 per item?

where does all this money magically come from?  nobody can answer that.  Who will open a factory in the USA, knowing they were barely breaking even while paying mex workers $4.60 a day.... when they realize they have to pay american workers $120 a day for that same work ethic?  (and it's big assumption that americans on their iphones will work as hard as impoverished mexican laborers that really need that job and don't have a union)

it's gonna be worlds cheaper to just pay the "trump tax" or 35% and keep on importing it.   Costs go up WAY MORE than 35% when you use USA labor.

Here's everything Donald Trump just promised in his major speech on the economy

Donald Trump on Thursday shared his economic vision with supporters gathered at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Manhattan, promising trillions in tax cuts, energy reform, a crackdown on trade, and a reduction in the number of tax brackets.

Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, estimated his plan would create 25 million in new jobs, and that the massive tax cut would be offset by gross domestic product growth of at least 3.5%, on average, each year for the next decade.

"This is the most pro-growth, pro-jobs, pro-family plan put forth perhaps in the history of our country," Trump said, according to the prepared remarks.

The New York businessman touted plans that he's championed in recent weeks, including the child care tax credit he said his daughter Ivanka worked on with him, and a reduction in the business tax rate from 35% to 15%. He said the latter would lead to "an explosion" of new jobs.

The Republican nominee also said he would put a moratorium on all new federal regulations, aside from ones "compelled by Congress or public safety," adding that he'd eliminate the Waters of the US Rule and the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Power Plan.

All good stuff, and easily doable for a guy with real balls such as Donald Trump!

The cost of the tariff, added to the extra cost of transportation, the extra cost of import paper work, and documentation, customs inspection, insurance costs, and the extra time cost involved, dwarf the turd world labor cost. The tariff tips the scale to make it here instead easily feasible.

20x more.   we need to pay them 20x more, to compensate for a 35% tax.

okay.  this will never happen.  congress will laugh him out of the building.

Obviously, you suffer from mathophobia. The first objection business had to these free trade deals was the cost of transportation and all the import costs that I mentioned. The Globalist Free Traders pointed out that the low labor costs would make it work. It would be cheaper than manufacturing something in the USA. 35% tariff nixes the low cost labor advantage to free trade. So the overall cost of making something here, in the USA, will be the cheapest way to go.

If there wasn't a monster financial advantage to moving production to outside of the USA, all of these firms wouldn't be doing it.

Apple will just take the fine and call it the Trump Tax.  Enjoy it. Don't worry, welfare mothers get that money as a subsidy.
