2016 Olympia - Kevin Levrone comparison pics - looks small
« on: September 16, 2016, 11:04:28 PM »
His legs remind me of Franco when he stole the Olympia. He really needed more time. Dexter was right. His legs need much more sweep, lats small and waist wide.

Everyone says that legs go first and it's impossible to have good legs at older age.

Probably true.

But why is that?

I don't get why people can't wrap their head around the fact that Kevin's legs were already deteriorating BEFORE he retired. As Dennis James said several times tonight, the legs are the first thing to go and if you don't use it, you lose it. Kevin could train for the next 10 years and his legs would not grow. He lost his foundation. NOW, I think his upper body could fill in more in time, but it would draw too much attention to his atrophied lower body.

Kevin knew this all the time...thats why he couldent enter the stage with selfconfidence like before...

Thought the judges would be nice to him, but probabably they will put him dead last...I wonder if u could qualify for the Mr O on his own...I doubt...

Joints can't take heavy training as people get older. Kevin says his knees are fine after posting the xrays. However he is not 20 years old anymore. He simply won't be able to punish them like he used to in his prime.

As mentioned, it's a few things, the biggest being a decline in neuromuscular efficiency that seems to favor fast twitch fibers, and the general movement away from heavy training as folks age.

They should have a special Olympia where Dorian, Shawn, Ronnie, milos, ruhl, lee, Jay, Chris, Kevin could all make a comeback and compete in

What do u expect Kevin is 52, legs started to go in his last few Olympias, still one of the best all time ever!!

As sad and bad as it is for Kevin at least we get to see him one last time on stage :'(

Just look at him ! He looks amazing for only training a year - sure he probably needed more time but wow his upper body stands toe to toe on many of the poses

People saying he looks dead last and shouldn't be there are crazy, sure hes not going to win or pace high but jeez, they don't make him look like he shouldn't be up there.

Leg extensions and partial rep leg presses alone will not build Olympia level legs.

You have to do some sort of squatting if your legs are undersized.

Of course he could not beat Phil or be top 5. Anybody who believed that is delusional.
But KL giving it his all and stepping on stage among the current top, creating all this hype and the people loving this hype, rooting for KL and once again looking forward to the mister O is what makes this so great. That is what it is all about. And I bet KL thinks the same way. So I do not understand the disappointment folks.

I agree with all that's being said here - I was totally wrong when I suggested (with insane optimism!) he'd be top 6.  BUT, I'm still glad I got up in the middle of the night to see him walk onstage.  AND I genuinely think he should finish higher than Pakulski - because of genetics, not nostalgia...

Nonsense, please tell me how the muscle fibres in your legs know they are squatting as opposed to doing a leg extension?
