Stop blaming age for Levrone's less than inspirational comeback
« on: September 17, 2016, 06:21:20 AM »
Dexter Jackson who is the same age give or take looked phenomenal. His legs haven't atrophied. Levrone obviously didn't eat enough, didn't lift heavy enough and didn't prepare long enough for this. Levrone needed 18 months of hard training and big eating and then another 14 weeks of conditioning/dieting down. Also, he needs to train smart. I would recommend that he use Position Of Flexion training in the 7-9 rep range, that way he will hit all the muscle angles.

Ramy is another one. He should have listened to the prince who wouldn't let him to cardio. Ramy needs to come in absolutely massive or he will go the way of Kovacs. Mass monsters need to forget about getting ripped and stick to alpha-male dominance.

Props to Levrone. Showed up in great condition. As good as condition as anyone there. Had great arms, delts, abs. Didn't look bad compared to the best in the world, not the nationals, not some $10K show where the prize money hasn't increased for 30 years.

Nope. There's #1, and then there's everyone else. Don't hand me this everyone-gets-a-trophy mentality. Play to win or take up another hobby.

#1 isn't always #1 though...

Levrone doesn't deserve to be there.  He didn't earn a spot, it was a gifted invite to drum up interest.

The Mr. Olympia has turned into a gimmick account.

As somebody stated earlier; some of these guys are delusional. They don't see things as they are. They lie to themselves. Then, at show time, the lie comes crashing down.

Jay said that as he prepped for the 2013 Mr O, he THOUGHT that he was at his all time best. Then at the Olympia that year, he realized that he was at his all time worst.

Go fuck yourself op.

50 is half a century.
Deterioration of human physique begins in our teens. That's when the cells stop developing and start to show signs of damage.

Of course most of us peak only in the mid to late 20s but that's because exercise. 'Naturally' we are already decomposing at that stage.

Yea, about so.

It's amazing how we have got such a relatively long life but only 20-30% of it is progressing. Rest is, as you say, only downhill.

We have created the whole society around our long lives. I mean, these days you have barely graduated and moving to work life when you are already decomposing. Makes no sense.
This is probably because we have extended human life artificially. It hasn't extended because of natural evolution but because we learned ways to keep ourselves alive longer with medicines, medical treatment, lighter labor etc. (some might call this evolution too, though). This has happened rapidly and our bodies haven't adapted by extending the progressing phase too. We have just extended the downhill phase.

I wonder do they have people in their lives that tell them the truth. By the looks of it neither jay nor Kevin do.

Age wasn't the issue so much as 13 years out of the game. As I said before if he would have gotten up there and done something then it would prove that bodybuilding is all drugs. The argument would be over because there's no way that anyone can become champion anything with just 5 months of training

This amoutn that people keep quoting about training..

Is bullshit

Kevin has been training for closer to 9-12 months for this.  He was biggish in February

Also, I agree with OP.  I'm not so sure that age means he can't have legs.  I think he might take a while to get them back, but I don't believe he can't have them if he wants them.  His legs degraded during pro years because his blast routine got less and less effective for legs.  Doesn't mean he can't have them if he wants - every other pro is gas almost all year.

No. They won't. The population who even knows who he is is dying off through lost interest, family concerns, death, etc. He's only as good as his last performance, as they say. And it was PATHETIC.

We still don't know his age I guess, but I doubt there are better looking bodybuilders his age on this planet.
Do you?

You need a picture of Groink to back up that post.
