Calories

Calories are an excellent source of energy.

They are appetite suppressing, meaning you can use them to stave off hunger, sustain the function of your vital organs and avoid death from starvation.

They are tissue building, any surplus and fat cells start to divide and proliferate, meaning you increase in mass and weight and blood volume and muscle mass.

A calorie is just an energy unit, not a "source" of energy.

Huge amounts of calories exists in nature. There's your source of energy units.
