Tom PLATZ biceps tear

Torn it leading to the '82 Olympia. Pretty nasty tear, ruined his career because his arms were nothing special to begin with

Makes my arm hurt just looking at that.  I wonder if he tried to get it fixed/reattached?   Doesn't seem like he did.

He got it fixed after the contest and ended up guest posing at 83 olympia

Re-attach immediately.
That's what I had done with my quad tear august 7th.
Still a long road ahead, but on the right track.

Don't hesitate: muscletendon tear -> hopital + surgery the same day. Don't let them talk you out of it. Prognosis drops each day.

Also possible if you tear it in the middle instead of tearing it off the tendon?
An old BB buddy I spoke to recently said he tore his pec in the middle of the muscle and they could not re-attach it. So now it is a bit deformed.

CORRECT, he just kept on delaying the surgery (I believe he was in denial) thinking he wouldn't be able to do the contest...
In the end, delaying it so long shortened his biceps and ruined his balance for good...
Lou Ferrigno had the same injury, got it fixed right away...

Tear in the middle is always a partial tear. I never heard of a complete tear through the muscle tissue. Could happen maybe in a car accident or something, when it's being cut through by a piece of metal. Then it's over and done for that muscle, you can't stich muscle tissue.

You are right. It was a partial tear. So they do not operate if the tear is partial, just let it heal?
But in most cases it will end up deformed, right?

(I am not asking this because I believe for a second that you are a real doc, just so you know  ;D )
