In the '90s, I bought many Playboy issues. The "special editions", too. When the broads started to become clones of each other (peroxide blonde, bolt-on titonas, shaved mound, etc.) I lost interest.
Last week, while in a book store, I spotted the magazine on the racks. Was curious as I hadn't looked at an issue for several years. (I was aware it had gone non-nudity.)
What a drag. Not only is the "girl next door, naked" LONG gone, but its format appears dramatically changed. It's now just another Maxim clone (another mag that was at one time amazing but is now lame as frick).
Its days are numbered. Don't think it'll survive another two years, to be honest.
The decision to stop printing pics of nude women is a catastrophic one. It is precisely because porn is so prevalent that classy Playboy-style photography is exponentially desired by a segment of the population.
Classic '70s/'80s Playboy nudes are amongst the greatest shit ever published.
Like Kennedy's MuscleMag, Playboy is doomed. Those in charge are clueless.
