Pence sounds calmer and more composed. Kaine sounds like he's whining and seems like he memorized the script with the usual Trump attacks.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) appeared to accidentally declare on its website Tuesday night that Mike Pence was the winner of the vice presidential debate, nearly two hours before it was slated to start.

“Americans from all across the country tuned in to watch the one and only Vice Presidential debate. During the debate we helped fact check and monitor the conversation in real time @GOP. The consensus was clear after the dust settled, Mike Pence was the clear winner of the debate,” said the blog post on gop.com, the party’s website.

The post, which went viral nearly two hours before the debate was scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., said that Pence’s top moments were on the “economy” and “highlighting Hillary’s scandals.”

This is good news.  Trump has already said he'll be letting his VEEP handle domestic AND int'l legwork, and he'll just focus on making things great.   I'm happy to hear the person running the country, making actual decisions, won't be russia's lapdog, the way trump seems to be.   Pence sounded presidential on this.  good answer

Turns Out Mike Pence Is a Serious Russia Hawk. Awkward!

It felt like ’80s night in Farmville: Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate focused, to an unexpectedly large extent, on Russia. Bizarrely, Gov. Mike Pence rattled off uber-hawkish old-school GOP talking points as if he were under the impression that Lindsey Graham or John McCain, not Donald Trump, was his running mate. Pence is a serious Russia hawk!

Asked about the ongoing siege in Aleppo, where Russia has unleashed a brutal bombing campaign, Pence called the bombings “barbaric” and argued that “provocations by Russia need to be met with American” strength. Pence advocated for the establishment of a safe zone with the help of our “Arab partners” to protect civilians. (Establishing a safe zone would seriously increase the risk of the U.S. deterring or even firing on Russian aircraft.) He threw in a pledge to deploy a missile defense shield in the Czech Republic, a Mitt Romney–era anti-Obama talking point that has barely come up in this campaign. He even threw in “an old proverb that says that the Russian bear never dies, it just hibernates,” one of the night’s many allusions to the Reagan era.

Again, none of this would be that surprising if a typical Republican candidate, such as Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush, were at the top of the ticket. But Pence is running with a man who has advocated partnering with Putin to fight ISIS, believes America’s “Arab partners” on the ground in Syria are in fact members of ISIS, and has said Vladimir Putin “has been a leader far more than our president [Obama] has been.”

If the Russian government really is trying to get Trump elected, they can’t be happy with his choice of running mate Tuesday night.

Pence was very good.  He will be very tough to beat in the 2020 primary.  He is this smart and slick when he's busy defending trumps embarrassing statements and positions.  Wait til he is just running as himself- he is extremely good.

He definitely outperformed how trump did in his debate

Kaine was similar to Hillary, they both seemed desperate at points and focused on accusing Trump about the same old issues.
Pence seemed like the polar opposite of Trump presence-wise but still managed to attack Hillary. He was clearly the "winner" of this debate imho.

Pence is dangerously slick.  He's up there with a plate of turd, making it sound like a sizzling steak.

When he runs in 2020, he may be unstoppable.  Smart and just so smooth. NEVER takes three bait.  Kaine accurately pointed out the 6 times he was given a trump statement to defend, and he slickly sidestepped it.

He might be the slickest person in politics.  I fee bad for him.  Trump has said so many idiotic things and they're all hanging from pences neck.  But he's doing a very solid job.
Kaine is just shady as shit

Also Pence looks like he lifts.  He raised his arms once in the Hulk smash pose for just a second after Kaine tried that you're fired thing.  Kaine is soft.  Pence is smaller but lean and dense.

Anyone notice that Kaine debated like 240 posts on here???

Anything of substance that was said was responded with either: a) racist Mexican rapists  b) taxes bad businessman or c) Putin circlejerk nuclear war muh Russian ties.

And we are One Bad Heartbeat away from that clown taking over...

Pence was a lot like Biden in 2012.  He just punched Kaine in the face every time he challenged him on some bullshit.  So he won.  He looks better and just acted like he man capable of beating the other chubby one down.

And Kaine just attacked with way more ammo.  He didn't have to defend much because he just had so many more items to attack with.

Pence just answered however he wanted.  But his physical presence and the rage inside him- I love that shit.  I want my prez to be an angry, cold mfer who only care about American greatness.  I don't want immature insecure trump, or liberal everything Hilary.

Pence me be potus in 2020. He's built outta that badass stuff.  Held it together while defending many indefensible things.

I agree!

Mike Pence sounds like a wise uncle who tells you stories about life that have important lessons. Tim Kaine is the uncle that touches you.

Hahahahahahha.

One tweeted takeaway of the #VPDebate: Pence is asking Americans to get behind a candidate who's words he himself can not defend.

True.  But pence himself, even if I don't agree with some things he did as governor, is a rock solid and safe leader in really sticky situations.  G8 showdown on US dollar or nkorea getting froggy-pence is the man I want making the decisions.

He is a gourmet chef whose cooking ingredients are mostly various flavored of turd.  Doing his best but limited.  Again, I don't agree with everything he did as gov- but he will keep out nation and borders safe.  Hilary will open the borders to overseas immigrants and trump may start ww3 over a tweet

He does make voting Trump feel a LOT better, especially if he's the "day to day" guy.

EDIT: If you already had to hold your nose and vote Clinton, Kaine's performance last night did NOTHING to help that. Actually, it probably made it even worse.

Maybe Pence (a true alpha) will slap Trump around a little bit before the next debate.

Hell, even Trump's dumber son held his own on CNN last night better than his pops.

. Last night was very similar to 2012.

Kaine had buckets of good attacks last night, used plenty.  Just like Ryan had plenty to use on Biden.

In 2012, drunk uncle joe just ignored them, projected confidence, and talked about whatever he wanted.

He lied a lot, denying obvious things that we've all heard trump say.  But Biden did the same thing.  As long as he is calm and collected, denying obvious statements is fine.

Pence used to be a radio host.  He can argue and troll anything.  He woukd have lost actual debate points- cause he just ignored most tough questions lol.

Pence was the cooler motherfugger up there.
