Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, there are tons of pros that never make 15K in their careers show-wise.

Do you really want the pros to make more money?
It's very, very simple.
Buy a ticket to a show. If your buddy can't afford it, buy him a ticket.
The more tickets sold, the more chance the promoter makes money.
Then the bodybuilders can get paid more.

I am waiting for the "Athlete's Rep" to respond - this will be good...

He has to ask Manion for the answers.  Why do you think they are so bad.

Why are you such a shill for the IFBB? That's my question. That and why a guy who takes pictures of nude teenagers in his spare time gets FIVE STARS, and a guy who used to pose nude as a teenager gets only ONE STAR.

I'd gather by the amount of times you've posted this "picture" that you're turned on by it....to each his own I guess.

Respond to what?

30K per show...great! All the power to Wayne and may the athletes participating reap in the benefits...

Once again....all sounds good. Lets see an actual show first before you all get giddy and fired up.

Actually, it's 145K over the first 4 shows + expenses for the athletes.  Sounds better than what they have a chance at now.

And do others see the progression here (and denial).  First there were rumors - and the people in denial wanted to see dates (now available).  Then they wanted see athletes (shows to get a card announced).  Then they wanted to see the "prize money" which is pretty darn good.  Now they want to see a show before they believe.  Will they even believe the fed exists after a show is put on?  Good grief.

Also, was it a coincidence that I received an email today with vague details on the 2006 Olympia?  I doubt it.  Probably an attempt to curb new fed excitment, especially with today's announcement.  Well, the O expo is going to have buses running between the site and hotel again - and we all know that turned out like garbage last time...  The email certainly didn't get me excited at all.

Exactly, bottom line....all the negativity on this board about PDI will not change the fact that there are 4 shows this year so far and more to come. I already know people who are going to the NOC rather than to the Olympia. There are going to be some pretty shocked people when the announcement comes as to who is competing.

Add me to this this list, and plenty of others too I am sure.

The production of the O last year was a disgrace, and did not exactly inspire me to run off to see it this year ::)

CQ, unlike most on the boards, you actually attend a lot of shows.

Defections like yours should have the IFBB most scared.

This was just emailed to me from Wayne:

DATE          CONTEST& LOCATION                                   PRIZE MONEY
Oct 20th       Slovak Pro Championships, Kosice, Slovakia             $30,000.
Oct 21st       Hungarian Pro Championships, Budapest, Hungary     $30,000.
Oct 22nd      British Pro Championships, London, England              $30,000.

These events occur one month after the initial PDI event, Night of Champions XXVII. NOC will be offering $50,000. in prize money plus the $5,000. NOC ring.

Can anybody explain to me what the actual prize breakdown is?  And remember use small words as I am a PDI skeptic.

We already knew Flex WHeeler was promoting the Hungary show.

I have a good feeling you're going to recognize the champ putting on the English show ;)
Oct 22nd British Pro Championships, London, England $30,000.

Where can I get more information on this?  I went to Flex's site and not a hint of any PDI anywhere on his site.

This is a prime example of what is going on with the PDI postings.  You get a Post talking about PDI promoting a show and then find out it is an IFBB show.

Why even post something like this if you can't confirm it?  Did you guys sign some sort of non-disclosure agreement?  There is too much behind the scenes wierd stuff going on.  I seriously want to know about PDI but there really doesn't seem to any source to get the whole story from.

Because you keep bitching about how little the bodybuilders get?
As a photographer I'm very fortunate that I get a press pass. In return the promoter get's coverage in the magazine and on the web. WHre's the problem?
