commodity prices globally are rising usually indicates the opposite, they are still well off previous highs but they look like the bottom of the cycle has passed, personally i think its a spike rather than recovery too much global supply to outstrip demand, but I'm on get big so I'm no economist.

This. Nobody can predict shit. Idiot economists and analysts predict on CNBC everyday. It doesn't mean they're right. Blind squirrels. We're coming off an 8 year bull market where rates haven't moved off of nearly 0. It's not hard to be a contrarian at this point. Whoever wins the presidency will inherit a future mess.
