Westworld on HBO - Anyone watching?
« on: October 17, 2016, 07:25:55 AM »
Anyone watching this?  How many getbiggers would love to go to a place where artificial humans roam free (no talking about LA) and you can rape, pillage and do what you want to them.  They feel, smell and look the same as humans.

How many of you would fulfill your demented fantasies where you can do a chick doggy then slit her throat when done?

Was looking forward to it but first episode was slow and confusing so didn't end up giving a shit.
Humans is a good show about robots being used for our desire like prostitution

YES 1st episode was a bit confusing ,,2nd episode much better I like it,,,the robots are main characters not other way around,,,i think ed harris as the yul Brenner role is great but I don't see how he is invinsible over all other robots,,and it seems like there is a 'robot utopia 'or escape like they think there human in some way and looking for something other than the 'park'

They mentioned how they think someone put in a virus to make them think and feel more. I'm wondering if the Ed Harris character did just that.  He mentioned never leaving and this is his last trip.  He is tired of raping the robots without them remember him each time and I think he wants them to fear him and remember.

cool,i didn't pick up on that,,makes sense they are programmed to the point of each storyline and not past that point,so they die over and over without remembering other than the programmed script,,cool show...the 'scalping'is interesting..

I only know the original movie with Yul Brynner, extremely cool. If the series are as good as that, my hat off...

Not sure why people think it's confusing. There's nothing confusing about it.  There's a park where human like droids act out western scenarios.  People pay to go and be part of it.  They can rape, kill and do anything they want to the droids.  They even show one of the earlier droids moved in a real mechanical  way but over time the technology has allowed them to develop even better more lifelike movements and behavior.  Every day the droids go through the same scenarios.  It's like those books that depending on the choice the guests make they can make the story different.  So much that one person has been going for 30 years and still hasn't seen all of the situations he can get in.
The creator though is having a God complex and keeps sneaking in code to give the droids memories and feelings.  So when a guy goes and rapes the same droid daily it will start remembering the events than being rebooted daily.  There's no secret or suspense.  It's more about the morality of people.  Just because it's a droid, if it looks, smells and acts like a person would you do it what you wouldn't to real people?

Was interesting how one engineer complained that his character was killing too many and the other guy said he can do what he wants.  He might be a silent partner or founder of the whole thing.

The only issue is if they try to drag it out too long, then what?  It seems the robots are getting ready to revolt.  How long can a series like this last before the storylines get messed up.

Now in episode two when the that guy was approached by that smoking hot blonde when he got off the train.  Holy Fuck!  She is sexy as shit.

Watched a few episodes in the beginning but lost interest.

Liked the original movie with Yul Brynner a lot.
