CARPENTER MADE IT AND PERFORMED IT WAS AS VALUABLE TO MOVIE AS THE MAIN CHARACTER ,,2ND MOVIE THEY SYNTHOZYSED IT WAS OK NOT AS GOOD AS PIANO VERSION

The Italians, particularly Goblin were pretty good at horror instrumentals too. The Buio Omega soundtrack is a favorite, the last 3rd especially  -

I love Goblins music, but Fabio Frizzi is out of this world when it comes to Doomsday-music from horror-movies!

Totally agree... synthesized crap.  If you watch movies in the 80's you'll notice that 90% of the music was synthesized.  It was the 'in' thing back then. 

Regarding the original music... John Carpenter is a genius.
