I read that the rumors were that Mike Christian had hired Dan Duchaine in 1990 to help him beat the drug tests. Duchaine had a drug that was a successful masking agent back then.

1990 was Dorians first pro show at the NYNOC, some guys were of in that show because they had an a eye on the Olympia later in the year, the guys in shape at the NOC had no intention of competing in the O that year.

FFS!  His cheekbones have cheekbones!    Excellent condition, and an enjoyable routine to watch too.  I'm not sure if I was ever lucky enough to see him live, but his style is much more to my liking than the more recent fist-pumping, stomping and ear-cupping some guys resort to nowadays.

Having said that, the audience seemed remarkably restrained, so what do I know LOL.

Sure, I can see what you mean,  I guess I've just been to rowdier (i.e. and by that I mean much cheaper to attend) competitions than the O.  You know the kind of cattle-market regional events where people are screaming 'Beef' and shouting in suppport of their friends...  The civilised way sounds better - and I know you still compete regularly, so I'm guessing you like the respectful hush...

I trained with JJ for that show. I don't think he thought much about getting caught.... until he got caught. But if he didn't get caught he would have easily made the top 3 or at the very least 5.
