...is training properly. Literally no one." (12:12)

Could it be possible that this guy is the only person in the world training correctly? Have the rest of us been duped?

The more someone has to say about training properly, the less likely they are to be correct...

His argument is that if you go faster than the minimum speed to keep the bar moving, you will begin to add momentum.

While this is true, his approach also reduces power used because of the increased time it takes to move the weight. That's why guys like him never have powerful looking physiques.

I would argue that you want to lift the weight as fast as possible without momentum becoming dominant.

While he has shitty genetics, the way he trains is borderline isometrics and produces similar results.

Wow! Yet another self proclaimed internet guru who knows more than anybody else? And what a body, he must weight at least 85 lb, what a beast..he has a point though, because it is quite hard to find anybody who is training correctly. For example: Even guys who are training for competition are training back with shitty posture and with the ridiculous dorsal hump. They look like fking camels, and at the locker room after the training they wonder why their progress is so slow..Why? Because you do everything like fking moron, that's why  ;D

Time under tension seems to be the idea for this guy but as you say it does not equal power.

If somebody can bench say 315 x 3 and take 10 seconds on the upward motion then they are stronger than 315. Is it more stimulus to lift that weight slowly? Sure, I would say so.

Yeah, but is it more stimulus than doing 335 x 3 or 315 x 6 and taking 5 seconds?

You're not gonna be able to lift as much his way and the amount of weight lifted per second will be less.

There's also the issue of fuel economy. Is taking 10 seconds for a rep you could do in 3 an inefficient use of limited energy supplies? I think so.

Muscles don't know weight, they only know intensity.

If that's the case, you'd could just hold the position all day.

You have a lot of running gurus who talk shit like this as well, yet, they never seem to produce any top of the food chain runners.

There's a YouTube of a supposed biomechanics expert who claimed Shalane Flanagan, the best female Marathoner in the country, was inefficient because her right leg stride length was longer than her left, and that she could be faster if she increased the length of her left side stride.

The problem with his argument is that it assumes that we have exactly equal strength on both sides of our bodies.

Found these pics on his Twitter. Looks like a powerful physique with good genetics to me.

His videos are intriguing. Everything is explained and performed with exacting precision - such as execution, percentages, duration, intensity, contractions, etc.

He's like a scientist and clearly an intellect. Is it possible that he's the only person in the world training correctly?

That's really him? WTF happened? Could it be that any type of training works when you're young and juiced to the gills?

The problem with his argument is that it assumes that we have exactly equal strength on both sides of our bodies.

People do tend to have a one side of the body dominance, known as Bi-lateral Strength Deficit. Any training to equalize, that is, bring the weaker side of the body, up to the strength of the dominant side of the body, and therefore over come this Bi-lateral Strength Deficit, will improve one's performance in whatever physical endeavor you are training for.

But if you maximize your potential on both sides, won't the dominant side still be stronger?

No. You train the weaker side more, to catch up to the dominant side.

All the old guys in the gym I see who train super slow who supposedly use to have decent size when they were younger, train that way because their ego is crushed by how weak they are now. They're borderline delusional now. It's like the guys today who or older and only train on machines now because of joint pain and laziness who say "they're just as big now than ever before". When truth is they do more juice now than before and are a lot fatter now than ever before...All of them are delusional...
