The reality of the impeach Hillary charge...
« on: November 07, 2016, 04:55:02 AM »
I suspect a lot of the impeach Hillary crowd are ginned up and not thinking of how that really works.

1. To be impeached, she first has to get elected and sworn in. This won't happen until Jan '17.

2. Congress would have to draft articles of impeachment. By any objective measure, democrats will have a slight majority in the senate.
That alone would be sufficient political muscle to stop it .

3. Even if the articles of impeachment were drafted, voted on and approved , it's a long way to convict her.
Impeachment only means she is put on trial by congress. This last happened when Bill Clinton was in his 2nd term over the sex scandal .
He was embarrassed but congress lacked the votes to convict him and kick him out of office.
Considering that the FBI director just notified congress (in writing) that she's not guilty of any crime, it would be tough to convict her .

4. If the long shot chance of convicting her happened, VP Tim Kane would become President.
Even with this extreme action, we'd still have the same democratic administration in office.

* the only way for Trump and the GOP to take the White House, is for them to win the election Nov 8.
If he wins , I'll wish him God's speed and hope for the best.
