Either way, it doesn't matter, if popular vote was the game, campaigns would have been run differently, ad-buys radically different, turn-outs would have been very different in safe states, and so on.   All that would have a far larger effect than the razor-thin margin you say she "won" on.

lol, so then it's a rigged system.  You just need to win certain states, but dumb that nebraska splits their votes where most states are all or nothing.  It would be better represented if all states gave a percentage of the electoral vote to represent the votes.

I recall the moaning and groaning for a popular vote from Democrats after the 2000 election.  If they wanted to amend the constitution they had two years to do so - 2009-2011. 

Some states want to bypass an amendment and have signed on to the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, but not enough states have committed.

Apparently, getting the most votes isn't that important. Otherwise, Hillary would've been in the White House sitting next to Obama, and not Trump.

The electoral votes should remain the same except that the votes get split based on percentage and the winner of the state gets a +1.

So if Cali had 50 votes and the candidates had 48.6% vs. 48.2% then both get 25 but the winner gets 26 votes.  This way the population is still represented and the spread is even across the country.

That would still disenfranchise rural areas and most red states. Winner-take-all works better for the EC, because it makes the politicians work and sweat much more.

The razor-thin margins by which Trump won Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Florida told the whole tale.

It does. But, that only applies in each state. It's the winner-take-all aspect of the Electoral College that makes every vote count.

No matter what the margin is, it's winner-take-all. Trump squeaked out wins in the midwest by a less than a point.

First of all, not all of the votes are counted. Even here in California, there are still absentee and provisional votes that never were counted, and won't be.

But a person said it pretty clear this morning on the new regarding the Popular Vote vs the Electoral Vote.  Say it is the World Series, and you have 7 games, and one team wins only 3 games, but scores 50 runs, while the other team only scores 40 runs, should the team that scored 50 runs win?
